SUNDAY SCHOOL

We invite your children from 4 to 16 years old to our Sunday School at

St. Nicholas Cathedral

The Sunday school at the St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York has continued its activities since 2011.

The main task of the Sunday School is not only teaching the younger generation the Law of God, but also cultivating love for God and neighbor, teaching the skills of Christian piety. Education is carried out in Russian, which makes it possible for the child to make up for the lack of communication in his native language with his peers.

Classes are held on Sundays from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm (with a break for the participation of the child in worship and Communion at the request of the parents).

The school program includes:

– Law of God and Biblical History
– Catechism (learning the skills of the Orthodox faith)
- Lives of the Saints
– History of the Orthodox Church
– Literature and Russian Language Lessons
– Development of Speech and Literature

Applied Arts:

– Choral and individual singing
– Drawing and Crafts
- Theatre studio

Traditionally, performances are held at the school on holidays, children take part in competitions, festivals, performances, which helps to reveal the talents of pupils. The program of the academic year also includes attendance by pupils of interesting educational and cultural events outside the temple.
