On the 9th and 10th of December 2023, and at the invitation of the first hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad; Metropolitan of New York and North America Nicholas, the Rector of St Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York the Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, participated in the patronal celebration of the cathedral of the Church Abroad dedicated to the Kursk icon of Our Lady of the Sign, the patronal icon of the cathedral and the Church Abroad.
On the evening of December 9, Metropolitan Nicholas celebrated the all night vigil with members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Church Abroad including Metropolitan of Berlin and Germany Mark, Archbishop of Montreal and Canada Gabriel, Bishop of London and Western Europe Ireney, Bishop of Seattle Theodosius, and the Bishop of Stuttgart Job.
On the morning of December 10, the first hierarch of the Church Abroad presided at the Divine Liturgy, assisted by members of the synod, as well as His Excellency Irinej Bishop of Eastern America of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and His Excellency Bishop Jerome of the Church Abroad.
Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov participated in all the liturgical celebrations together with the invited clergy, after which he attended a celebratory banquet as a guest of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas.
