The patronal feast of Saint Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral was celebrated on December 19th 2023, on the day of remembrance of Saint Nicholas the Archbishop of Myra and Lycia the Wonderworker. 

The celebration took place at Saint Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral on East 97th Street in NYC. On the eve of the feast December 18th, the all night vigil was served. The Divine Liturgy the next day December 19th, was officiated by the main celebrant cathedral rector Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov.

Concelebrating with the Rector was; the interim rector Church of the Holy Great Martyr George (Bayside, Queens) Hegumen Eutychius (Dovgan), acting rector of St John the Baptist (Little Falls, NJ), Father Mark Rashkov, Hieromonk John (Scheffler) of Saint Nicholas Cathedral.

The sacrament of confession was offered by cathedral staff Clergy; Hegumen Nikodim (Balyasnikov) and Father Rodion Shamazov.

Serving cathedral deacons were Protodeacon Igor Panachev, Deacon Alexy Golubov, and Deacon John Peters.

In his sermon to the assembled parishioners and congregation Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov congratulated them on their patronal feast day, and emphasized that we should all ask Saint Nicholas in these pre-Christmas days for correction, help and strength to bring about in ourselves the Christian ideal.

After the service the congregation was invited to the festive meal in the Cathedral undercroft.
