On January 6-7, 2024, the feast of the Nativity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, solemn and festal services, as well as holiday events were held at St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York. On the evening of January 6, the rector of the cathedral, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov led the all-night vigil. Concelebrating with him were the staff clergy of the cathedral, Hegumen Nikodim (Balyasnikov) and Hieromonk John (Scheffler).
On the night of January 7, the Divine Liturgy was served, celebrants were Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov cathedral rector, concelebrating with the rector Hieromonk John (Scheffler). At the service the Christmas messages of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia was read, as well as that of the Acting Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and Canada, His Excellency Matthew Bishop of Sourozh. The Divine Liturgy on the morning of January 7 was led by Hegumen Nikodim (Balyasnikov), concelebrating with him was the cathedral cleric, Priest Rodion Shamazov.
Cathedral deacons at the services were Protodeacon Igor Panachev, Protodeacon Sergius Kerko, Deacon Alexy Golubov and Deacon John Peters.
At the end of the evening and morning services, a festive meal was organized for all parishioners, and after the service on January 7, a festive holiday concert took place in the refectory hall of the cathedral.
