On March 10, 2024, at the end of the Sunday Divine Liturgy, a creative and fascinating literary event took place with the Russian poet and writer Nikolai Tyurin in the refectory hall of the St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York. He is a member of the Union of Writers of Russia, a local historian of the Tambov region, a researcher of the Tambov uprising of 1920-1921, the author of the historical novel “Antonov”, " The Last Fire", the stories "Ignat", "War and the Life of Scout Sharapov" and others.
At the beginning of the meeting, the writer was introduced to the audience by the rector of the cathedral, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov.
Mr Nikolai Tyurin presented his new collection of poems “Favorites”. The author gave a recitation of poems about love, nature and the Motherland, as well as philosophical lyrics. As a gift to the library of the St. Nicholas Cathedral, he presented a copy of his poetry collection and the book “War and the Life of Scout Sharapov.” We are all deeply grateful to Mr Tyurin for sharing his divine gift and talent with all of us!
