The patronal feast day was celebrated at St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York City.

The day before, on May 21, the all-night vigil was served for the feast.

Concelebrating at Divine Liturgy, which was led by the cathedral's rector, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, were the cathedral's clergy, diocesan clergy, as well as guests from the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia: Hieromonk John (Scheffler), cleric of St. Nicholas Cathedral, Priest Mark Rashkov, acting rector of St John the Baptist Church in Singac, NJ, Archpriest Serafim Gan, Chancellor of ROCOR Synod of Bishops and Rector of Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos Church in Glen Cove, NY, Archpriest Alexandre Antchoutine, Dean of the First Deanery (Eastern American Diocese of ROCOR).

The sacrament of confession was offered by Hegumen Nikodim (Balyasnikov) and Priest Anthony Kurakevich.

The deacons at Liturgy were: Protodeacon Igor Panachev (senior ranking cathedral and diocesan deacon) and Deacon Alexei Golubov.

In his sermon addressed to the parishioners, Archpriest I. Vyzhanov greeted, congratulated them on their joyous patronal feast day, and expressed the thought that the commemorated event – the transfer of the relics of St. Nicholas from Myra in Lycia to Bari in the eleventh century, proved to be one of the most inscrutable paths for God's salvific providence, as it saved this great and holy saint’s relics for all of Christendom.

After the service the congregation was invited to the festive meal.
