On June 15, 2024, a reception was held at the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York to mark Russia Day, which is celebrated annually on June 12. The event was attended by the rector of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov.
At the beginning of the reception, the Consul General of the Russian Federation in New York A.K. Zakharov, the president of the cultural center "New Russia" from Albany, New York, Tatyana Deptola, and Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov addressed the audience.
In his speech, the rector of St. Nicholas Cathedral emphasized that the 1000-year historical and cultural heritage of Russia obliges us to know the history of our family, our Fatherland, and to be true to our culture.
