On August 20, 2024, on the day of remembrance of the holy martyr Alexander Khotovitsky, festive services were held at St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York.
In 1900-1902, through the efforts of Father Alexander Khotovitsky, with the blessing of Saint Tikhon, at that time Bishop of the Aleutians and North America, the future Patriarch of All Russia, the majestic St. Nicholas Cathedral was erected in the center of New York.
Later, after returning from America to Russia, Archpriest Alexander Khotovitsky became one of the closest assistants of Patriarch Tikhon. In 1937, he accepted a martyr's death. The name of the holy martyr Alexander is invariably remembered at divine services in the St. Nicholas Cathedral.
On the evening of August 19, the rector of the cathedral, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, celebrated the all-night vigil for the feast of the holy martyr, and on the day of the feast itself, August 20, he celebrated the Divine Liturgy.
