On September 1, 2024, after the Sunday Divine Liturgy and meal, the first meeting of the monthly literary club, organized on the initiative of the wife of the cathedral rector, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, Alla Vyzhanova, took place at St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York.

It is assumed that the club, open to all parishioners, will meet once a month to discuss a specific work of Russian or foreign literature, previously read by the club members. The purpose of the discussion is a Christian understanding of the content of the work.

The current meeting was devoted to the discussion of F. M. Dostoevsky's story "The Meek One". The cathedral's rector, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, gave a report on the content and criticism of the work. Then the club members discussed the story.
