On September 15, 2024, on the day of remembrance of the holy faithful princes Peter and Fevronia, revered in the Russian Orthodox Church as patrons of marriage and family, the Sunday School of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York organized a holiday for its students in the nearby famous Central Park.
After the Sunday Divine Liturgy, the school students gathered on one of the park lawns, where a number of events were organized for them. A "brain ring" was held with the joint participation of children and parents, the theme of which was the lives of the saints whose memory was celebrated in the summer, during the Sunday school holidays. Master classes were held on making various crafts. There were active games and a picnic.
It is planned to make such open-air celebrations at the beginning of the school year a good tradition of Sunday School.
