A meeting was held between the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and the Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America On November 1, 2024, a meeting was held at the Representative Office of the Moscow Patriarchate in New York between the temporary Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, and the Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America, Archpriest Alexander Rentel. Father Alexander greeted the Bishop on behalf of the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, who wished him a blessed stay in the USA and success in his upcoming work. Bishop Matthew expressed gratitude to His Beatitude for his attention and expressed hope for a personal meeting in the near future. Bishop Matthew and Father Alexander discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including joint services and events in 2025 dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the death of St. Tikhon of Moscow, as well as the 55th anniversary of Thomas's granting of Autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in America. The meeting was also attended by the acting secretary of the diocese, Hegumen Nikodim (Balyasnikov), and the head of the chancery, Priest Mark Rashkov.
