On February 13, 2025, at the invitation of the Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Federation in the United States of America A. V. Kim, the rector of the St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, attended the screening of the documentary film "People of Christ. Our Time", which took place at the film club of the Russian Embassy in Washington.
The film screening was also attended by the rector of the Church of St. John the Baptist of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad in Washington, Archpriest Viktor Potapov.
The film tells about the persecution that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is currently enduring. The author of the film is the world-famous Serbian film director Emir Kusturica.
The premiere of the film took place on December 3, 2024, in the Hall of Church Councils of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. The premiere was attended by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill, who after watching the film congratulated E. Kusturica on his 70th birthday and presented him with the Order of St. Seraphim of Sarov, first degree.
