On May 9, 2025, on the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, in St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York, the rector, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, celebrated the Divine Liturgy with the assistance of Protodeacon Igor Panachev.

At the funeral litany, the “ever-memorable leaders and warriors who laid down their lives for the faith and the Fatherland on the battlefield, who died from wounds and hunger, who were innocently tortured and killed in captivity and bitter labor, and who all labored for the sake of Victory” were remembered.

At the end of the liturgy,  the traditional Victory Day “Thanksgiving and prayer service to the Lord God, sung on Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War” was performed and Eternal Memory to the fallen was proclaimed.
