On May 11, 2025, after the Sunday Divine Liturgy, a concert of Sunday school students was held in the refectory hall of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The concert was hosted by the head of the Sunday school, the wife of the cathedral rector, Alla Vyzhanova. She also told the audience in detail about the exhibition of photographs and documents she had prepared on the life of the Russian Orthodox Church during the Great Patriotic War and the role of the clergy in the events of that time.

Then, as part of the now traditional literary and film club, a screening of the Soviet feature film “Ascent” took place, based on the story “Sotnikov” by the war veteran writer Vasil Bykov.
