On May 14, 2025, on the day of Mid-Pentecost, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, rector of the St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York, took part in the patronal feast of the church of the Russian Church Abroad in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Unexpected Joy." The church is located in the New York borough of Staten Island.
The festive Divine Liturgy was led by Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada. He was assisted by the dean of the district, Archpriest Alexander Antchutin, the rector of the parish, Archpriest Vasily Zelenyuk, as well as invited representatives of the clergy of the Russian Church Abroad, the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and the Orthodox Church in America.
