On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the first concelebration of the Primates of the American and Macedonian Churches took place at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Washington, DC, to mark the official recognition of the new Local Autocephalous Church by the Orthodox Church in America.

The Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Beatitude Tikhon, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, and His Beatitude Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia, Metropolitan of Skopje. Concelebrating with the primates were a council of hierarchs and clergy of the Russian, Serbian, American, and Macedonian Churches: Bishop Seraphim of Kostajnica, representing His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church; Archbishop Melchizedek of Pittsburgh; Archbishop Ireneus of Ottawa; Archbishop Michael of New York; Archbishop Daniel of Chicago; Bishop Nikodim of Boston; and Bishop Basil of San Francisco. Praying at the service were Metropolitan Methodius of Toronto and the Ambassador of Macedonia to the United States of America, Mr. Zoran Popov.

With the blessing of Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Acting Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and Canada, the acting secretary of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Hegumen Nikodim (Balyasnikov), and Priest Mark Rashkov, head of the chancery of the Moscow Patriarchate parishes in the USA, took part in the service.

At the conclusion of the Liturgy, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon warmly greeted Archbishop Stefan and his clergy. Archbishop Stefan expressed the wish that "this day would mark the beginning of fruitful cooperation between our two sister Churches. For the world around us needs a living testimony of unity and love."

Following the Liturgy, the Primates, hierarchs and clergy, as well as the Serbian Ambassador to the United States of America, Mr. Dragan Šutanovac, attended an official reception at the Macedonian Embassy in the United States.
