At the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United Staes of America; His Excellency Anatoly Ivanovich Antonov, the rector St Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral New York Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, and the acting Chancellor of the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States Abbot Nikodim (Balyasnikov), took part in a round table and working discussions, held at the Russian Embassy in Washington, DC.
Representatives, guests and Russian Compatriots, from a variety of cities around the United States gathered together in Washington to take part in this event and meeting chaired by His Excellency the Russian Ambassador. The main topic under consideration and for discussion; the possibilities for the implementation of assorted initiatives to maintain national culture among Russians living in America. Each participant had an opportunity to express freely and in an open and creative forum, ideas and views on topic.
At the end of the round table sessions, everyone was invited to screen the Russian feature film; “The Challenge” from 2023 in the embassy’s theatre. The film is especially interesting, groundbreaking and unique, as the starring actress made a real space flight during its filming.
After the film the guests and participants were gifted with sets of Russian fiction books.
Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov extended his personal gratitude to Ms Nina Abrahamyan of the Russian Embassy for the ongoing productive dialogue with St Nicholas Cathedral of NYC.
