The Rector of St Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral In New York City, participated in the nameday celebration of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad. On February 15-16, 2024, at the invitation of the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, Rector of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York, took part in the solemn divine services of the feast day of St. Nicholas of Japan, this is the patron saint of Metropolitan Nicholas.
Divine services were held in the Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, dedicated to the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign."
On the evening of February 15, Metropolitan Nicholas celebrated all-night vigil, and on the morning of February 16, he celebrated Divine Liturgy, in which he concelebrated with His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada, His Excellency Bishop John of Caracas and South America, and His Excellency Bishop Jerome.
Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov participated in the divine services with a host of clergy who concelebrated with the First Hierarch, and was then invited to a festal luncheon on the occasion of Metropolitan Nicholas' nameday.
