On March 17, 2024, after the Divine Liturgy, in the refectory hall of the St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York, a concert was organized by Sunday School students dedicated to the preparatory ritual of Great Lent - Maslenitsa.

Those that gave the concert, told the audience about the significance of Cheese-fare Week (Maslenitsa) in the calendar of the Orthodox Church, and its significance for our Lenten journey.

Our children performed Russian folk dances, songs, jingles and poems, traditional for festive festivities on the eve of Lent. Under the guidance of Sunday School teachers, they made various crafts and art works enjoyed by everyone!

The refectory kitchen staff prepared very tasty “blini” crepes for all the parishioners. Much fun and joy for one and all!
